This is an entry-level position on the server administrator team.
As a member of this team, you will gain experience with both Red Hat and Windows servers, container administration, enterprise storage, certificate management, infrastructure monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts, and service delivery through automation.
You will be working with a professional and dynamic group of individuals that support the compute, storage, and data center infrastructure at Ohio University.
This position works directly with other IT product teams to support our community of university administrators, faculty, and students.
Your primary responsibilities will focus on supporting the university’s compute and storage infrastructure.
This includes planning, deployment, coordination of outages, and monitoring of server and storage infrastructure and associated hardware, platforms, and datacenter technologies.

*Job Responsibilities Include:*
*Operations 70%*
Maintain compute platforms by following established processes and procedures.
Perform incident and service request fulfillment through internal ticketing systems.
Responsible for provisioning and deprovisioning of server compute resources as well as the associated administrative tasks needed to maintain core servers and services.
Work closely with customers and application administrators to maintain service uptimes outlined in service and operational level agreements.
*Engineering 10%*
Work closely with other resource groups and external customers to manage the platform lifecycle of hosted applications with a focus on remediating vulnerabilities and system upgrades.
Working closely with application administrators, plan system upgrades to maintain operating system, container, and application security.
*Process Improvement 10%*
Identify improvements to the internal knowledge base and team documentation supporting the daily operations of server administration.
Perform documentation review and produce draft versions of new documentation for review by senior team members.
Work closely with peers to improve internal team processes to maintain service levels.
*Minimum Qualifications: *
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or other directly related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
